Consultant General and Endoscopic Surgeon
Dr Chiu Kang graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2010 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2019. He is a consultant general and endoscopic surgeon practising at ECBS with consultation rooms in Box Hill and East Melbourne.
Dr Kang has completed advanced training in laparoscopic surgery, upper gastrointestinal procedures, and therapeutic endoscopy through both Australian surgical training programs and sub specialty fellowship. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of general surgical conditions alongside diagnostic and interventional gastroenterology services.
GESA-certified endoscopist performing upper GI (gastroscopy) and lower GI (colonoscopy) procedures for investigation of reflux, dyspepsia, iron deficiency anaemia, Barrett's oesophagus screening, bowel cancer screening, polyp removal and altered bowel habits.
Minimally invasive keyhole surgery for gallbladder disease (cholecystectomy), inguinal hernia repair, incisional ventral hernia repair, anti-reflux procedures and upper gastrointestinal conditions.
Specialist management of acid reflux/GERD requiring surgical intervention including Nissen fundoplication and hiatal hernia repair. Expertise in oesophageal disorders and foregut surgery.
